If you have never played this at a Halloween party, you must try it this year. Have a few towels nearby to hand out after each person’s turn. And do not forget to have the camera handy…this is so much fun!
Apple bobbing is a game traditionally played on Halloween. A number of apples are placed in a large bowl of water. Players have to try to catch one of the apples using only their teeth. The hands must remain behind the back at all times. This game is believed to date back to Roman times when Romans used to celebrate Pomona, their goddess of fruit, in October. The symbol for Pomona was an apple.
Place the bowl and table low enough for players to easily reach it. The prize is the apple, but you may want to hand out fresh ones since the ones caught from the bowl may have other’s bit marks in them!
