In Colombia, they drive on the right side of the road and start driving at age 16, so au pairs who come here do not need to adjust to that when driving your children. Better than 90% of au pairs who are placed in the U.S. already had driving experience before coming, and more experience when we are talking about driving can only be better!
Like many other young people who become au pairs, young Colombians are motivated to improve their English skills only possible with full-immersion in the culture, which is what happens when you host an au pair. Colombians do study English in school, and the better your skills, the better chances of a good job when an au pair returns home.
All our au pairs have experience, but many Colombian au pairs gain their experience through tutoring and babysitting opportunities.
During the month of December, Host Families who choose to match with an au pair from Colombia will be eligible for a $100 discount. Other discounts are available.
We have a number of available au pairs from Colombia, as well as a number of au pairs already in the U.S. looking to transition to a new Host Family. This means they are available much quicker than an au pair who is still waiting to get a Visa in his or her country.
