More family fun ideas in Providence!

Other than the zoo and the children’s museum, Providence is teeming with fun family activities! Are you a sports fan?

We have great sports teams – Providence Bruins in hockey, Pawtucket Red Sox in baseball, even the New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and Boston Red Sox are nearby in Massachusetts!

Providence is home to the Dunkin Donuts Center, host of Providence Friars basketball! Providence College is my most recent alma mater, along with Rhode Island College, home of the Anchormen.

Even if you can’t get tickets, the city is loaded with restaurants who host special events for all the games.

If it’s not sports you’re into, maybe you would rather window shop at Providence Place Mall or go to Dave N’ Busters there or watch a movie at the IMAX Theatre.

One of Providence’s best features is Providence Water Fire (free to the public-use One Providence Place for GPS – parking available in mall and convention center garages). Take a stroll through Waterplace Park and let your senses take in the more than 80 sparkling bonfires along the cities three rivers. It is memorable experience praised by both Rhode Island natives as well as international visitors as a “powerful work of art and moving symbol of Providence’s renaissance.”
