During the month of November, Go Au Pair celebrates the country of Australia by offering $100 off to Host Families who match with an Australian Au Pair this month! You can have your cake and eat it too!
You probably already know that au pairs from Australia speak English, as it is their national language. There is official language, though, and some Australians speak Mandarin, Italian, Arabic, Cantonese, and Greek. Indigenous Australians spoke over 250 different languages before the influence of British settlements beginning in the 18th century.
Did you know that Australia is the 6th largest country on the planet in terns of total area? Australia uses money called the Australian dollar and the population is over 23 million people! That is close to the population of the United States around 1850! Australia’s capital is Canberra, but it’s largest city is Sydney. As a nation, Australia scores very high in terms of education, protection of civil liberties, health and healthcare, quality of life, political rights and economic freedoms.
Au pairs from Australia are great infant au pairs, as there is little to no language barrier, giving Host Moms confidence to leave their precious little ones with their new caregivers. Aussies, as they are known, are a multicultural group, but over 90% are descendants of Europeans, particularly From Northern European nations of England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.
