Those of you who read my posts regularly know that I am an advocate of educational and cultural experiences for both au pairs and American families. Go Au Pair offers American families the opportunity to host au pairs from all over the world, bringing language, culture and traditions of the country of your choice to your children, right in your own home.
Au pairs provide full or part time childcare and related childcare duties, such as kids’ laundry, light meal prep, homework help and even driving to and from school or lessons. In return, Host Families pay the au pair a weekly stipend and contribute to his or her educational requirements, as well as provide room and board as if their au pair were a family member on an extended visit. Au pairs stay for a year, up to two years, and bring untold opportunities to their Host Children and Host Families.
But what about families who cannot afford such a program? Can they have access to unbelievable opportunities, too? The answer is yes! But with great benefit and reward comes sacrifice. I should know because I have a child who is lucky enough to accept this awesome gift!
I would like to introduce you to Milton Hershey School in Hershey, PA. It is a private, coeducational home and school. For over one hundred years, the school has offered high quality education and structured home life for qualified students from pre-K to grade twelve. Did I mention all of this is free?
That’s right, FREE! Please come to an informational session in CT to hear from an admissions counselor as well as families such as myself who have children there.
Milton Hershey School cordially invites you:
JD Cooper’s Restaurant at 146 Park Road in Putnam, CT on December 3rd at 6pm
Please come to hear about the extraordinary opportunities available at this great school. The meal is on us, well them! Bring the family and hear their presentation, ask questions, and get your application from Cindy Rice (888-959-0990)! No reservations necessary!
Contact me, Joan Lowell, with your questions and comments. Check out Milton Hershey School online at http://www.mhsKids.org. Register online for au pair childcare at http://www.goaupair.com. I hope to see you next month at dinner.
