Are you an au pair in RI, CT or MA? Do you know an au pair? Go Au Pair Providence is looking to get our au pairs involved, in all 50 states! We all know, or you do, if you read my blog, that au pairs are here for cultural exchange. One of the biggest adjustments for au pairs is eating in America. Just imagine visiting a foreign country with no sign of any familiar food! That is what some au pairs experience upon arrival with their Host Families.
Go Au Pair and our Au Pair Sis, Janine, are holding a contest for all au pairs. Get involved – it involves food! Colleague and fellow-blogger Summer Blackhurst is a supporter of au pair competitions, since they encourage culture exchange in the community as well as Host Family! We want RI au pairs to taste what the Ocean State has to offer, even if you are not a fan of seafood! You will need to visit an eatery or restaurant (not a franchise like McDonalds or Subway), answer a few questions and post your pics or video online with the Au Pair Sis on Facebook.
Au Pair Sis, Janine, is looking for the best eateries in the US, and Summer thinks this is a great way to bring cultural exchange to the local community; I couldn’t agree more! In Rhode Island, we do have great diversity, but not in every community. The Au Pair Program brings a level of cultural exchange to families and communities in new and exciting ways! Janine is a real person, and LAR (Local Area Representative) like me, whom Go Au Pair has designated as our go-to girl for all things au pair! Check her out and then register at our local page. Rhode Island area residents are eligible for our best pricing yet! Check us out!
So, where in Rhode Island could an au pair start? As a RI native, I have few suggestions. If you would rather look for a place close to home, check out what’s around your own city or town. Here are some local favorites for you to try:
Iggy’s Doughboy and Chowder House in Oakland Beach, Warwick, RI
Top of the Bay is just across the street from Iggy’s
Luigi’s Restaurant and Gourmet Express, located in Johnston, RI has delicious Italian food
Caserta Pizzeria is a staple on Federal Hill in Providence
Ye Olde English Fish & Chips in Woonsocket is absolutely delicious, and not just fish
Crow’s Nest in Warwick is also outstanding
Okay, I am starting to get hungry. Anyone want to out eat? Contact me, Joan Lowell, your Local Area Representative in Rhode Island, at 401.309.1925 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
