Parents, need someone to keep the kids on track when you can’t? Do they need a disciplinarian? Do you prefer fun and friendly childcare for your kids?
Maybe you’ve heard about the Au Pair Program but have already decided that is not for you. When you discover how much an Au Pair can bring to a family, not just childcare but a friend to kids and mom and a support to all, you might want more details. Just as your family is unique, so are our Au Pair candidates. Choose someone who can connect with you and your family in the ways that will make you happy. Host Mom Cyndi Frick shares her surprising reactions to hosting a “younger” Au Pair.
Au Pairs are 18-26 yr olds who provide safe, reliable in-home child care while bringing a cultural experience to your family. Initial placement is one year for out-of-country Au Pairs, or shorter if you choose an in-country Au Pair; many choose to extend for up to a second year.
Many Host Families choose Au Pairs who speak a certain language or who are from a specific country for their own reasons. Other Host Families have no preference about language or home country, but are more concerned about the skills and personality of their new Au Pair. We do our best to provide you lots of different qualified candidates for your review and ask that you not make too many assumptions which may limit your options.
When you view a profile for free, in addition to extensive information about the Au Pair’s lifestyle/background, you can see detailed records about his or her educational background, personality traits, hobbies and interests. Our profiles include information about an Au Pair’s religion, upbringing, family history, physical characteristics and dietary preferences.
When you choose an au pair with Go Au Pair, you will know those details, and more. You choose the type of person you want caring for that most precious gift, your kids! Don’t leave the details up to someone else; we have done all the leg work and only ask you to choose someone to meet your needs.
We require a character reference and provide Host Families the guidance of a professional Placement Coordinator, who can answer many of your questions and provide direction during the selection process. Go Au Pair currently has over 300 Au Pairs available as well as some ; you can review their profiles online for free! For about $340 per week, your get up to 45 hrs (not >10 hrs/d) of cultural childcare and light child-related housekeeping.
