As if March Madness in downtown Providence isn’t enough, add to that the St. Patrick’s Day and St. Joseph’s Day celebrations and you might as well stay all weekend! By the way, you don’t have to be Irish or Italian, or a basketball fan, to get in on the fun!

Please take the time to celebrate with your RI friends and neighbors this weekend, no matter which event or events you attend. Providence has a wide variety of family-friendly activities going on all weekend to help you celebrate. The Rhode Show had an informative clip about some of the events, so check it out, or just read on.

Go Au Pair Providence wants to see each and every Au Pair and Host Family make the most of their cultural childcare experience. If you missed the Newport St. Patrick’s Day Parade last weekend, don’t let another party get past you! This weekend, check out the block parties all over, not just for the NCAA tournament either!

GoProvidence has an eclectic list of events, both family-friendly and adult-only, so check them out before you get in the car! The Luxe Burger Bar will be the central location for one of the St. Patrick’s Day block parties, so get downtown early and explore! The Whiskey Republic, opening at 10am, is partying all day on St. Patty’s Day, doncha know it? Where better to enjoy live Irish music performances, the Providence Pipes & Drums and Irish step-dancers than your favorite Irish pub? You can also head down to The Rosendale block party on Union Street or Murphy’s on Fountain Street, everyone’s Irish pub, NY deli and American grill location.

Just staying home? Celebrate with a traditional boiled dinner of corned beef (get the flat cut), cabbage, carrots and potatoes. For dessert, you must have zeppoles, to celebrate St. Joseph’s Day (which is Saturday), everyone’s favorite Italian pastry! My favorite bakery is D. Palmieri’s Bakery in Johnston, the most Italian town in the state! And if you’re hungry for more than pastry, they have delicious calzones, pizza and more, all made from scratch in their kitchen!

Go Au Pair Providence wants to see you celebrate this week! Have fun and be safe! Contact me for details on becoming a Host Family with Go Au Pair and starting your cultural childcare experience right away!
