While many families love the idea of a cultural childcare experience offered by agencies like Go Au Pair, they often fear the language barrier may put their children in harm’s way. This is not true at all, since our Au Pairs are fully vetted and have childcare experience and families are required to have at least two interviews before matching so they can assess the Au Pair’s speaking and comprehension of English. For those of you who are still skeptical, consider an English-speaking Au Pair, such as Bridget from South Africa, or any number of our hundreds of available Au Pair candidates.
South Africans are native English speakers, but Bridget also speaks Afrikaans and Zulu, so your cultural childcare experience can still include the kids learning new languages! She is infant qualified, with over 550 hours of documented experience caring for kids under age two. She is currently caring for the two children of her Host Family in Anchorage, AK, seeking a less isolated area to complete her program until next February.
Bridget is a 27 year old licensed driver (since 4/2015) who can provide skilled care for your children ages 12 weeks and up! Studying to be a teacher, Bridget has experience as a babysitter, Au Pair and teacher. Live-in childcare is the most flexible and affordable option for many American families, costing an average of $7.85 per hour for up to 45 hours of childcare and childcare-related tasks.
Open to working with traditional married couples, single parents of either gender, or gay/lesbian couples, Bridget can work split shifts and a flexible schedule. She can help with kids’ meals, clean-up and even their laundry! She can drive the kids to activities this summer and get them safely on the bus this fall. She is able to cook and hopes her new Host Family doesn’t have spiders.
